Craig Cook is hoping to become the second of two Belle Vue ‘Rentruck’ Aces representatives in next month’s British Final as he prepares to tackle Semi-Final 2 in Sheffield later tonight.
The final eight places for the prestigious event at Manchester’s National Speedway Stadium on June 19 are on the line for some of the country’s top stars when tapes go up at Owlerton Stadium.

Seven-time British Champion Scott Nicholls and three-time British Champion Chris Harris, along with 2016 British U-21 Champion Josh Bates are just some of the names Cook will face off against.

It marks the start of a busy extended weekend for the 29-year old who, following the conclusion of Thursday’s event, will set off for Lonigo, Italy and Round 3 of the 2018 Speedway GP Qualifiers.
He said: “It’s going to be an interesting night for me. With the Grand Prix Qualifier at the weekend I’ve already sent a couple of my machines to Italy so I’ll only have one bike with me on the night.
“It is a bit frustrating for me but it is what it is. I’m still targeting a good finish. It’s not about winning the meeting it’s about making the top eight and I feel I still have a good chance of doing that.
“I want to have another shot at the British title. I’ve come so close in the last couple of years and ended up just missing out so hopefully I can qualify through and go one better this year.”
