Kosmonaut launches ‘Crate Diggers of the World Unite‘, the bar’s new series of vinyl-only Thursday nights curated by music coordinator, Pasta Paul which Celebrates vinyl, music in its purest form, bringing together DJs, music lovers and a whole lot of vinyl. Pasta Paul has handpicked the varied programme of Thursday nights, and there’s much more to come. Thursdays are to be a journey through the personal music collection of some of the Northern Quarter’s favourite people featuring nights from Piccadilly Records, Oi-Polloi, Beat Boutique and of course Pasta Paul and friends at his Post-Office Pay Day Ping Pong Party.
Thursday 10th October / Oi Polloi Presents Pica-Sounds with guest DJ Chris Stocker (Bad Passion) / 6pm – 1 am / FREE
Kicking off the first Thursday of vinyl-only night “Crate Diggers of the World Unite”, residents Pica-Sounds return to play their range of disco, Balearic, pysch, cosmic, electronic and techno beats. This eclectic night is hosted byOi-Polloi resident Katy Bee, guests to date have included Balearic Social Radio’s Andy Pye and Sam Cunniffe from NTS Radio and this week sees Chris Stocker (Bad Passion) take to the decks.

The Beat Boutique DJs are famous for hosting legendary Soul and Disco nights around Manchester and beyond, including a recent set at Festival No.6. They bring their vinyl expertise to Kosmonaut on the second Thursday of every month, and will be throwing some unforgettable parties.

Brand new at Kosmonaut, the guys at Piccadilly Records will be showcasing their cherry-picked favourites from the award winning store. Stalwarts of the music industry, they continue to prove their love for what they do. Playing a variety of funk, disco, cosmic, folk and electro back to back all night. Featuring Kickin’ Pigeon, Dave Walker and Patrick Ryder.
Thursday 31st October / Pasta Paul’s Post Office Pay Day Ping Pong Party / 6pm – 1am / FREE
Pasta Paul’s legendary Post-office parties have been running for the past year, persuading his DJ friends to play vinyl-only records for a one hour slot. Previous line-ups have included Mark Webster, Krysko (WHP) and Jason Boardman, so much like Forrest Gump’s box of chocolates “you never know what you’re gonna get” but it’s sure to be good!
