Walkabout Manchester

Walkabout Manchester

Just opened in Manchester Pocketmanchester.com have decided this place rivals the best. Those beer trucks are going to be here on a regular basis

The 550+-capacity bar welcomes children through to 7pm and serves food from a new creative menu up to 9pm, which is crammed with favourites such as classic burgers and house specials including the kangaroo steak and Queensland-inspired wild boar and the roo burger.
There’s also light bites and sandwiches and a host of drinks from Australia, such as Bundaberg Rum, VB beer and pipsqueak cider.

Walkabout hopes to become a home for sports fans in the city, with giant TV screens and a dedicated projector screen for big sporting events and match days, where fans can book a front row seat.

And for a city fanatical about football, that idea is certainly no own goal.
“Everyone has their own concept of the existing Walkabout in Manchester (on Quay Street), it’s a sports bar that turns into a club with a hostel upstairs. We are different. We want to offer more for families in the daytime and cocktails but then we also open until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays for people looking for a night out.”

Its layout also allows for it to be versatile, with tables able to make way for a huge dance-floor, to stage live band nights or for the booths to be hired for private functions.

Walkabout Printworks opens with a huge VIP launch party tonight from 5pm, with general admission after 9pm.

To coincide with the launch, keep your eyes peeled for a Surfing Santa around the city centre over the weekend to win prizes, including a giant bar tab on the house.
